LIZZIE SELLS

A dancer and international performer, Lizzie has spent more than a decade performing in museums and art galleries.

Since 2009 she has worked extensively with artists and choreographers who opened-up new perspectives in the fields of visual and performance art such as Tino Sehgal, Sheila Ghelani, Xavier Le Roy, Mårten Spångberg, Nicola Conibere and Eddie Peake.

Alongside performing, she is involved in researching the nature of performance from the inside, what it is to do it, and how this might expand some of its promises, while challenging some of its darker sides.

She has taught dance and improvisation in both community and professional settings for more than 10 years. She has been teaching yoga since 2017.

Occasionally she curates things: Dance Film Shorts Night @ Laban (2007), Arte Diem Festival Epilogue @ Sfântu Gheorghe, Romania (2009), Museums At Night @ Viewfinder Photography Gallery, London (2010), Films from the Underside Political documentary festival @ Goldsmiths, UOL (2015),

In 2021 she co-curated and produced

with Francisco Carballo and Pacho Paredes for Museo Universitario del Chopo, Mexico City. This series of 14 conversations invited artists, thinkers, academics, activists and politicians from across the world to dialogue on the state of the world in Spring 2021.
